| A song I wrote in a four o'clock haze |
[Oct. 11th, 2007|04:05 am] |
I'm frightened to look out the window And see a face I don't know I'm scared to see those sharp teeth Closing in on me
When they come out the sewers at night I'm not prepared No one's ever prepared
I'm afraid of the precedents we set And the way no one will Stand up Why won't you stand up?
We're just faces in a crowd Someone else will help Unless an unknown voice on the wire Calls for the kill
Until then I'll just wait Till they come out of the sewers tonight I'm not prepared In fact I'm terrified |

These Live Journals may not be what's "Hip" or whats "with it" anymore (Just like my Luigi icon, and my engrish background lost their coolness as well) But goddamit if they aren't interesting to peruse when you're waiting at home to go out and get your drunk on.
Especially when you re-read your old entries and they form a kind of road map from the person you were when you started to the person you now are. MY ONLY REGRET, that I deleted all my entries from 03. God only knows what they were about, it would have been interesting. (I don't regret the uber depressed entries that exist here, the uber depressed entries were I tried soooo hard to write about life as if I wasn't a miserable sack of shit crying on my laptop keys)
Still, it's interesting to examine entries made stating my desire to meet new people in boone, and just how I ended up when I left Boone last time. The two years or three years or so that went by in between kinda flew the fuck by. And I am amused at the the knowledge that when I was writing that post I was just meeting a couple of people that ended up being two of my best friends. Or that two people I thought were in pretty solid relationships at the time ended up breaking up.
Also funny, the people you figured you'd end up being friends, never really factored into your life at all.
I only write this, so my sister can peruse something while at work as I often peruse her shit whilst sitting around after school. This is my ultra lame vague pseudo intellectual shit. It's of no substance at all, and no insight.
But it kills the time between beer. |

[Dec. 20th, 2006|02:33 am] |
Haven't posted on this thing in forever.
Haven't had internet access in forever though.
Anyhow, lifes been hectic, but good all the same. I got my grades from this semester and I rocked it out with two A's a B and a C. I feel quite accomplished considering I managed this while working 30+ hours a week to pay for rent, trying to maintain some semblance of a social life, and work on the band.
Which goes quite nicely into the band. Go here. www.myspace.com/vaderbomb
Listen to the new songs.
Comment perhaps.
We're going full tilt come January |

| SO IM A FUCKING RETARD |
[Aug. 5th, 2006|03:37 am] |
So it's 3 in the morning.
The leaving on saturday was postponed till today (today as in saturday). Due to some bullshit, none of which involved me.
And here I am on the computer, luckily I pretty much packed except for a few things. But still I'm up till three in the morning, making me fucking insane.
"Well why are you insane" you ask.
And I respond to you. (Hypothetical you, as if anyones reading this PSHAW, RIGHT) BECAUSE, me and my brother are driving THE ENTIRE DISTANCE IN ONE DAY.
So one would think "man maybe you should sleep properly so you can drive without, you know, fucking falling asleep, and into the abyss OF DEATH" But that'd make too much sense wouldn't it? No self destruction and illogical acts are the rule of thumb in my life my friends.
Why am I up? I desperately needed to burn cd's. That's italicized because it's a god damn lie, I know it, you know it, your crazy uncle with IBS he knows it as well. I'm just obsessed with music and I keep thinking "Well without my Ipod i need to have all my favorite cd's!" then of course I end up NOT burning my favorites, but instead burn the things I think I should listen to. Which is fine, you know when you're chilling around your apartment. BUT NOT WHEN YOU NEED MUSIC YOU LOVE TO KEEP YOU AWAKE!
So I fully expect to die. And I plan on going out listening to God Speed You Black Emperor, Minamilist house, free jazz, and Ghost Face Killah.
I'd also like to point the finger of blame away from me (On who it belongs 100%) and shift it onto the real problems here! (And by real, I mean, not at all a problem. But I need someone to blame, so if I DO die I can at least look down from heaven and be like "THOSE ASSHOLES DID THIS TO ME (thus sending me to hell promptly))
The real problem? All three of you homo humpers I talk to late at night! You have sufficently fucked up my sleep patterns with your inticing conversations and musical taste. ESPECIALLY YOU AKWARD MCGEE! You are the worst :(. Not only have you kept me up many a night but you also have ruined my life on a number of occasions ("Oh yeah, James told me about you! You're the hottest girl ever!") I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN!
So I hope you cry when they find me next to a Ghost Face Killa album an energy drink in my hand and a still lit ciggarette hanging from my lips (I'll go out like I lived!)
PS. WU-TANG CLAN AINT NOTHIN TO FUCK WIT
If I survive I'll be seeing all my charlotteans and boonies real soon :D. I'm stoked. |

[May. 13th, 2006|11:18 am] |
if you live in texas, and you want a job I can give you one. I'm managing the Cold Stone in Grapevine Mills here, and essentially I've been told it's my store to run how I see fit. THat means hirings, firings, scheduling, marketing, etc.
So we need around ten people. I can't promise huge money, but hell you'll get to work in a cool enviroment with ME I know that's a huge fucking deal.
And if you don't need a job (Diana I'm assuming?) tell any of your cool friends who live near Grapevine Mills, ESPECIALLY HOT SCENE CHICKS.
Because right now I'm working with nothing but Jail Bait. |

| HTB |
[Apr. 18th, 2006|10:16 pm] |
So last night (being monday night) me and an assorted group of chums went and saw a hardcore show at Tremont. We went for two bands, Fall Of Troy and Horse The Band.
First good event, Matt Roberts was there which was a pleasant suprise, as I did not expect it.
We sat around for a bit, I being exhausted at not having gotten any sleep that day. Some talk was made, some Liggits smoked (Liggits being Two Dollars a box. They taste about as good as one would expect a two dollar cig to taste. Which is to say, like DOG TURDS) and then the opener played.
The opener was Trojan Horse, they were awful. Reasons forthcoming on the awfulness. They played like 20 minutes on one song of basically mindless experimental noise.
Then the second band came on. Can't quite remember their name. They where an enjoyable emoish group, a few songs were really catchy and cool, the rest of the set wasn't displeasing to the ear either. Here's the catch, fucking Hardcore Charlotte Scene bitches BOOED them. I guess if the lead singers up there not slamming on three chords and screaming himself to throat cancer, it's not worth it. I hate Charlotte.
Anyways, it didn't matter because next up was HTB. They opened with Birdo. It was awesome. I must admit to getting chills when everyone in the crowd was screaming "Throw it back". They were awesome live, the nintendo keyboard sounds AMAZING and I wish I had been the one to think of it. But alas, they got to it first.
The singer was fucking insane on stage, playing the mic cord like it was an instrument, jumping all over the fucking place. The guitarist was a lot more prominent live, and he's really fucking good. I never realized it. Plus they where HYSTERICAL. So much brilliant dickish back and forth stage banter I was cracking up.
Sadly after that the concert went down hill. We expected Fall Of Troy to take the stage next, and I was f'n stoked, but they weren't there. And Posion The Well came on, and they quite simply are garbage. So me and Zach and Matt Roberts tried to hunt down the reason Fall Of Troy weren't there. We ended up seeing two of the three band members, and talking to the lead singer of HTB about why they weren't there and then just shooting the shit with him for a bit. He was pretty cool, told us the lead singer had a personal problem and had to go back to seattle, and that he doesn't really like hardcore kids (as we were making fun of the douschey hipsters in the club) nor hardcore itself really.
Ended up at Steak And Shake, where me and Zach's buddy Jason (I believe is his name? Christ I think that's it) and me ended up engaging in some of the most disgustingly evil jokes I've ever been a part of. I honestly feel rather dirty.
Good times all around, but god dammit I wanted to see Fall Of Troy. |

Did you ever want to set someone's head on fire, just to see what it looked like? Did you ever stand in the street and think to yourself, I could make that nun go blind just by giving her a kiss? Did you ever lay out plans for stitching babies and stray cats into a perfect new human? Did you ever stand naked surrounded by people who want your gleaming sperm, squirting frankincense, soma and testosterone from every pore? If so, then you're the bastard who stole my drugs Friday night. And I'll find you. oh yes. |

| Bonnaroo Is For Lovers |
[Feb. 2nd, 2006|07:07 pm] |
SO yeah. June 16-18 is going to be the defining moment of my life.
Why you ask? (Well obviously you don't really ask, I'm hypothetically answering your question.)
BECAUSE MOTHERFUCKING BONNAROO (a giant festival) HAS THE BEST LINEUP EVER
Not ever. That's a lie. Coachella 2004 had a better one. BUT, Coachella was impossible to go to. This ones not. It's in fucking Tennesee, a hop skip and a jump away. PLUS look at the artists there.
Most Important- Radiohead (thats right, Radiohead is headlining. I promised myself I'd do anything to see them if they came near again.)
Second Most Important- Stephen Malkmus
Everything Else That's Rad to the max- Bright Eyes Clap Your Hands Beck My Morning Jacket
Acts I'd love to see (and shall) but aren't my favorites- Elvis Costello Death Cab For Cutie Cat Power Son Volt Devandra Barnhart Magic Numbers Dios (malos) Andrew Bird
Stuff I'm not going to complain watching- Dungen Atmosphere Rusted Root Blues Traveller (Hey it should be fun, same with Rusted Root) Nickel Creek Ben Folds (and if he plays Ben Folds Five stuff I'd up him to love to see) Robert Randolph Tom Petty
It's only 170 all together. Plus that includes camping and parking. PLUS a lot of people I know are going. And so now shall I.
If you read this and you're going, or are interested in going leave me a comment or get in touch with me. THe more people going the more awesome it will be |

| The 15 Best Albums Of 2005 (Boy was this a beast) |
[Dec. 30th, 2005|02:39 am] |
| [ | Current Mood |
| | accomplished | ] |
| [ | Current Music |
| | Sonic Youth - Schizophrenia | ] | God this was an epic undertaking. One I'm not even sure why I undertook. Last year I spent a good amount of time in one day writing up my best of, but I pretty much knew which albums I wanted when I sat down to make it. This year, I had some of the same idea, but I felt I should listen to everything I could before making a decision. After all this year was an amazing one for music, as when I decided to narrow down the list I had some 30+ albums I thought where good enough to be on it. Insanity. Whereas I spent one day working on last years, I spent somewhere around two weeks working on this one. (In my defense, those two weeks have been spent in Texas with little to do)
So here it is. I have no idea why I wrote it except for I like writing, I like music, and I like to write about music so it seemed logical. Also, I want to document these things for some reason.
First off the albums I wanted to put on, but just couldn't fit (even though I did put 15 albums instead of 10 this year)
Akron/Family - Akron/Family Beck- Guero Bright Eyes- I'm Wide Awake And It's Morning Constantines- Tournament Of Hearts Deathcab For Cutie- Plans (It's much better then it's given credit) Doves- Some Cities Franz Ferdinand- You Could Have It So Much Better Gang Of Four- Return The Gift (If it was a new album, It'd be in the top ten. As a quasi greatest hits though it's still wonderful) The Go! Team- Thunder Lightning Strike (I didn't put this on because I heard it really last year, however it came out in America this year. If I had heard it first this year it'd be top ten easily.) Gorillaz- Demon Days Hot Hot Heat- Elevator The Joggers- With a Cape And A Cane Laura Veirs- Year Of Meteors Maximo Park- A Certain Trigger The Most Serene Republic- Underwater Cinematographer The Mountain Goats- The Sunset Tree My Morning Jacket- Z Rouge Wave- Descended Like Vultures Silver Jews- Tanglewood Numbers Sufjan Stevens- Come On Feel The Illinoise
Alright, away we go. Starting in reverse order.
15. Art Brut - Bang Bang Rock And Roll - Essentially the Indie Rock version of The Darkness, but god damn if they don't rock as hard and write better songs then 95% of bands out there. Lyrically they are consistently brilliant. Be it the satire of "Bang Bang Rock & Roll" in which they take shots at bands aping The Velvet Underground, the sophomoric humor of "Good Weekend" (sample lyric in regards to a new girlfriend "I've seen her naked, TWICE!"), to the sheer irony of "Formed A Band" (In which he insists, it's NOT irony). This album would have placed higher but it has a few clunkers. Still all the same, it shows great promise, and is really one of the most fun records to come out this year.
14. M83 - Before The Dawn Heals Us - This album taught me a lesson on music I should have learned a long time ago. Pitchfork are a load of pretentious ass hats. The description of one of the singles (not sure which one) on Before The Dawn Heals us as "sounding like Journey" scared me away from this album until about a month ago, when I heard Teen Angst for the first time. Here was a song that combined the electronic beauty of M83's last album with what was essentially a pop structure complete with vocals. It was gorgeous. I was blown away. Quickly thereafter I listened to the whole album and realized something, it's better then DeadCities,RedSeas&LostGhosts. (Note: I deleted the god-awful Car Crash monologue immediately. I suggest to anyone who listens to the album to do the same.)
13. The Decemberists - Picaresque - Though Colin Meloy has always written songs that essentially where stories, he's never, to me, been as direct in his story telling as he was on Picaresque. In such songs as "The Sporting Life", "We Both Go Down Together" and especially "The Mariners Revenge Song". The songs of Picaresque have such beautiful wordplay, and poetic flow I am astonished every listening as to how great a lyricist Meloy is. The music is also equally as pretty, flowing with varied instrumentation, it's a beautiful work, and I'm anxious to see where the band goes next.
12. The New Pornographers - Twin Cinema - I'm afraid I really have to eat crow here. For almost 3 years, I've held strong to an inherent dislike of The New Pornographers. I'd listened to their first two albums numerous times and never came away with anything but distaste for the band. I swore up and down I'd never ever change my opinion and refused to give Twin Cinema any due. But there was a problem, two songs had wedged their way into my head and refused to come out. "Jackie's Dressed In Cobras" with it's pounding piano, and manic vocals, and "Sing Me Spanish Techno". Those two songs had done so much damage to my former stance, that upon a forced second listen I realized that not only did I like what I was hearing, I loved it.
11. Architecture In Helsinki - In Case We Die - Pitchfork has decided to label the bands music as Hyper Prog. Again I return to my former point that Pitchfork have ceased to be worthwhile, and should go ahead and bury themselves in Master P's next release and never write about music I care for again. I don't hear a single bit of prog in In Case We Die, what I do hear is some of the finest indie pop to come out in a long time. The songs bounce happily along horns, ooooo's, sha la la la's, and girl/guy harmonies. It's sugary, and saccharine, but never to the point where it doesn't go down wonderfully. Also they put on one hell of a live show.
10. Okkervil River - Black Sheep Boy - There's a very good chance that if I had heard this album months ago it'd be parked in the top 3. I haven't given it as much time as the rest of the albums that sit in the top ten, but it is that good upon first impression. The album is racked with emotion. It reminds me of The Wrens "Meadowlands" (One of my favorite albums of all time) in that the music just oozes with raw passion and anger, and all other kinds of emotion. And just like The Meadowlands it tip toes the line as to what could be considered Emo. If this is emo though, I'll go ahead and toss on girls jeans, cause this is one of the finest records I've ever heard.
9. Sigur Ros - Takk - I've always liked Sigur Ros, but I've never really considered myself a huge fan. The ir music always seemed so sad and depressing I couldn't give it more then a cursory listen. All that changed with Takk however, as it's an album that just bursts with joy. I don't know if anything monumental occurred in the bands life in the interim between () and this album, but the music is so powerfully moving that the happiness on songs like Hoppipolla is almost tangible even with unintelligible lyrics. All the while the music still manages to sound like Sigur Ros. A beautiful album.
8. Animal Collective - Feels - Seems almost as if this is a theme this year. Here's another band I liked alright, but didn't give a great deal of time to. In Animal Collective's case, I loved a number of the songs of off Sung Tongs, but never felt as a whole that the album delivered. Too often they seemed to be weird and inaccessible simply for the sake of being weird and inaccessible. With Feels however they took their sound and put a little bit of sheen on it. By no means are these songs radio ready pop, what is different this time around however, is that stripped of a few layers and shined up a little they COULD be Radio ready pop. I'm not saying that’s what I want from the band, but it just shows the strength of the pop melodies on this album, and the change in songwriting.
7. Stephen Malkmus - Malkmus is my idol. Seriously. How he managed to be in one of the greatest and most influential bands of the 90's (if not ever) and then continue to put out albums as consistently strong and fun as this one, I'll never know. It seems like Malkmus is challenging himself harder on his own then he ever did with Pavement. The song writing is all over the map, electro pop like "Pencil Rot" sits next to epic guitar jams like "No More Shoes" and throughout the album Stephen pushes his voice all over the place as far as it can go, through every range possible, and it's never sounded better. He may have been the quintessential slacker in Pavement, but it certainly doesn't seem that way anymore.
6. Spoon - Gimme Fiction - The sheer quality of the first seven songs on this album is such that no matter what came next it would place on my top ten. From the opening of "The Beast And Dragon Adored" with it's squiggly noisy guitar lines, to "I Summon You"'s brilliantly catchy acoustic jaunt it's impossible not to be captivated. After all in between those two songs you've got two more of Spoon's best work "I Turn My Camera On" a brilliantly minimalist dance song, and "Sister Jack" which is essentially a perfect pop song. As well as three excellent songs packed in. It would be unfair to ask more of any album, but the final four songs aren't bad at all, they just have the misfortune of trying to compare to near perfection.
5. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! - Clap Your Hands Say Yeah - I missed the Clap Your Hands show that came to Chapel Hill. This was a sad day, because the album is top to bottom the finest pop release of the year. In fact the only thing holding this back from being higher up in ranking, is simply that it is nothing more or nothing less then a pop record. It doesn't aspire to be difficult, or revolutionary. The band wear their influences on their sleeves (Talking Heads anyone?) but it doesn't matter because it speeds along like a freight train never slowing down once and delivering brilliant song after brilliant song. In the end though a lack of depth holds the album back. However even if Clap Your Hands never gets any deeper in their music, they'll always hold a strong place in my heart if they deliver this much fun.
4. Wolf Parade - Apologies To The Queen Mary - Wolf Parade had a lot to live up to. The hype on this release was insane. The album speaks for itself though, delivering on much of the hype (obviously no band ever fully delivers on it). Upon first listen Wolf Parades music bears resemblance to Modest Mouse among others, however unlike Clap Your Hands, after repeated listens the band quickly sheds the obvious influences and builds a sound all their own. Songs like "Dinner Bells" and "I'll Believe In Anything" sound uniquely their own, and are some of the finest of the year.
3. Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene - From top to bottom this album is flawless, the songs are varied while still belonging together, and they push the boundaries of where the band has gone before (for instance on Windsurfing Nation they rap, and well). It's only on the strength of the following two albums that this isn't number one. However regardless of that, this has quickly worked it's way into being one of my favorite albums of all time. As well as made me near rabid to see Broken Social Scene live. Better then Feel Good Lost? Yeah, I'd say so.
2. Bloc Party - Silent Alarm - The fact that Bloc Party's debut came out in January, and is still this high up the list should say something about how good it is. Anyways this comparison might get me some shit, but I stand by it. Bloc Party are going to be the next Radiohead. If one is to take a look at The Bends and this album (obviously skipping Pablo Honey, because it's shit) I think the comparison is a fair one. Both albums find the bands making intelligent slightly skewed guitar music. Like Eating Glass opens the album with a buzz of dissonance and ambience like Planet Telex. From there one could draw more parallels, for instance the straight ahead rock of Helicopter to Radioheads The Bends. Mostly though it's the spirit of Silent Alarm. As so many critics have said this is a great rock album, what I think they've failed to see is the more forward thinking nature of it. Songs such as "She's Hearing Voices" or "So Here We Are" are much different then what’s being put out by bands in the same scene, as well as really most bands today. To me it seems like Bloc Party are set to explode and take a place as one of the more progressive bands (in a good way) of our time. I could be wrong, and I'm sure most will say I am. However wherever Bloc Party go from here, it doesn't change the fact that Silent Alarm is an amazing album to launch from.
1. Cloud Cult - Advice From The Happy Hippopotamus - I never saw this one coming. It came completely out of left field, I had never heard of them, and really only downloaded them on a whim. After repeat listens of the top four over and over to narrow down which I loved best, this won out. Why? Because it's an epic, huge album (some twenty songs I do believe) and only ONE of them is mediocre. And that's mediocre not bad, because that one song musically might be lacking, but lyrically it's one of the best I've heard as well as having the albums best lyrics. Stylistically it's all over the place, but it still manages to draw it all together in a cohesive whole. I didn't pick a single song from this album for my favorite single songs because they should all be viewed in the context of the album. It's a masterpiece, and one of my favorite albums of all time. Because of this it beats off all those nipping at it's heels.
So that's it. If you read through all of this, I love you. Also PLEASE PLEASE leave some comment. Anything, anything at all. So I know that this was worth somewhat of an effort.
Also, if anyone reads this and wants any of these albums to listen to, give me an im or something and I'll send any of them your way. |

DaddyWarbucks97: i went to see the narnia movie DaddyWarbucks97: and during the previews DaddyWarbucks97: one of the coke commercials with the polar bears and the penguins came on DaddyWarbucks97: and this woman beside me (probablly mid 40's) talked about how cute the commercial was and jokingly said she wondered if penguins and polar bears really did get together to party when humans dont see them DaddyWarbucks97: and i turned around and said: "Mam, excuse me. I couldnt help but over hear your question about the frateranization of polar bears and penguins... DaddyWarbucks97: ..and i have to tell you that the answer is no, they do not party together. It is impossible, penguins live at the south pole, and polar bears live at the north pole. Stahl James 11: AHAHAHHA Stahl James 11: you did not, I don't believe! thats fucking hillarious DaddyWarbucks97: ...Therefore it would have to take place in a zoo or controlled habitat, and based on the look of the commercial that didnt seem to be the case. Stahl James 11: AAHAHAHAHAHAHAH Stahl James 11: AHAHAYHAHHAAH DaddyWarbucks97: In all honesty i think that those animals are actually computer generated, as well as the fantasy environment created by some fool who would make it possible for penguins and polar bears to meet." | Something Kate Wants Me Doing |
[Dec. 9th, 2005|06:35 am] |
Letsee Kate wants me to put the songs I like. Theres more rules apparently, but I can't be assed.
1.) Xiu Xiu- I luv the valley OH! We went and saw Xiu Xiu yesterday. It was a great time. I learned that Xiu Xiu is pronunced kinda like "Jew shoe" except the same opening sound. The show was really good, I only have one complaint. No I Luv The Valley OH! My favorite song by him. To make up for it, I've been listening to it a lot. It's amazing, the guitars sound loud and powerful, and the singer puts so much emotion into his voice it's quite impressive. I especially like when he screams "OH!". If you haven't heard this yet, you should.
2.) The Strokes- You Only Live Once Holy crap is this song good. It's air tight brilliant guitar pop by the masters of it. Plus the "boom boom boom GET UP!" hook is brilliant. However, sad to see I've heard the rest of the album and it's not very good. If only they had crafted 12 songs like this, they would have had a masterpiece on par with the first two. One of The Strokes best songs, and one of the only really memorable ones on the release.
3.) Stephen Malkamus- Freeze The Saints One of two songs on this list by Stephen Malkamus because the man is fucking genius, and I'd kill to see him live, (I don't know what I'd do for a Pavement reniuon tour though) It's a really really pretty song, driven by a short piano part, and Malkamus excellent singing. Plus I like the lyrics. Sample "Nothing lasts for long, except the earth and the mountains, so learn to sing along and languish here."
4.) Fall Of Troy- F.C.P.S.I.T.S.G.E.P.G.E.P.G.E I've listened to Fall Of Troy more in the last few months then any other band. I can't stop myself their addicting. The music is just the right balance between hardcore and melody. Plus the guitarist is fucking APESHIT insane. This is noticeable on this song, but even more so on others. I listen to this song often times when I'm driving and hardcore sream to the part where he sings "I'm rewinding rewinding rewinding REWINDING" often. It never fails to get my heartrate going.
5.) Spoon- Anything You Want This one I've been obsessed with for two reasons. Number one it's musically great, it's very... not pretty too me. But something about it just pulls at the heartstrings. And I love it. However whats especially important about it (Or what was, actually) is the lyrics "And now time is my time Time is my own Never felt so alive Yet I feel so alone" I felt like that for awhile, cause I was emo as fuck. Now however I'm quite the oppisote, and am amazingly happy.
6.) The Unicorns- I was Born A Unicorn All you need to know are the lyrics. Cause they are amazing (so is the song) I was born a unicorn, I missed the arc but I could have sworn, You'd wait, for me! I was born a unicorn, I could have sworn you believed in me. Then how come all the other... unicorns are DEADDDDDD
7.) Pavement- Box Elder We cover this song so I listen to it constantly. Partially to learn the words and rythm perfectly. Partially because it's just an amazing song. |

| Everything Hits At Once |

I haven't updated this bad boy in a long time.
I'm in texas for one. My life is crazy, I have no idea whats going on in it. This is not a bad thing persey, but I am confused as to where I'm going.
Obviously however this is better then being confused as to where I'm going as well as wanting to curl up into the fetal position and die.
This things going to be helter skelter, hold on to your hats. Especially if your wearing a derby, because those are awesome and should not be lost.
"And now time is my time Time is my own I feel so alive But I feel so alone" (Spoon - Anything You Want)
That's pretty much how I feel. Things are crazy, I'm out of a very very unhealthy relationship, but part of me still wants to cling to it. Thankfully it feels as if that part is growing smaller by the day. I recognize that it was shitty, and I didn't deserve to be in that position. But still, it's hard to not have the comforts. The love.
SO! I suppose a rundown on events.
I've been keeping busy. I've been going out just about every night and it's really helped. I've met a ton of new people and it's like at this point in my life where Im breaking out. I couldn't or didn't put the effort into making a ton of friends last year because I was content. But now I'm not. I'm really happy in Boone, irregardless of heartache or anything else, I still am happy. Thats something I have to take the time to stop and realize, that even though shit hit the fan I am still happy where I am and having a great time.
I saw Spoon and Hot Hot Heat since last I updated I think (?) both where excellent. At spoon I got to meet a friend of Zach's who was really cool, plus to spend time with josh, stephanie (Who is awesome to the max) and Zach. It was also a fantastic show. I have had spoon songs stuck in my head constantly since.
I kind of hit a rocky period after spoon, lots of drama, and pretty much the death knell in my feelings for one person, but I'm actually pretty damn glad it happened. Especially since because of it I was encouraged to call Becca and ask if she wanted to hang out. This was a good thing because I prob wouldn't have otherwise, and that would have been sad because she is awesome to the max of the max. She's seriously one of the coolest people I've met in a long time. Also her best friend is also really cool, though I haven't spent as much time with her.
I've also hung out with Mary a lot since everything went to pot. This is also a supremely good thing, because Mary is swiftly becoming like one of my favorite people EVER. I'm very sad we didn't get to meet last year when I first met Phoebe (Who is also super de duper cool) because I would have liked to have known her earlier. All the same, I will not complain, because no point in looking at the past in regret.
This entry is so fucking gay :-P. It's rather late and Im tired. I will trug on for all two people reading it however.
Hot Hot Heat was one of the funnest concerts I've ever been too. However the driving experience was crap as I almost killed everyone in the car. I believe Becca's exact words where "Oh my god I'm going to die". It was a good time had by all ( I THINK) however. And I'm glad I attended it with zach becca and mary because they are all awesome. (Also because Zach is my hero, and like the bestest buddy a guy could have)
I think Im a little drunk writing this. ANYWAYS. I am now in texas, and tonight I got done hanging out with Sarah (Sara? Forgive me if mispelled) A broken record I may be, but she is the coolest. ONe of my favorite people. We had a grand time, and she makes me feel like the comedy king because she laughs at everything I say/do. Not sure however if this is pity or not :-P.
I am confused a little bit about how I feel as far as dating goes. I don't know what I want right now. Part of me wants to have a girlfriend again, but another part is not ready and wants to just have fun. I don't know which side will win. This is the worst entry ever.
HERE subsequently is a list of the songs I have become obsessed with recently. All are worth a download.
Wolf Parade- I'll Believe In Anything Rilo Kiley- Portions For Foxes Maximo Park- Wasteland Interpol- Not Even Jail Broken Social Scene- Ibi Dreams Of Pavement Bloc Party- Tulips (Minotaur Shock Remix) The Streets- Turn The Page Stephen Malkamus- Freeze The Saints Radiohead- I want None Of This (This song is great, though gives no indication at all as to where they are going with the next album)
Sometimes I wonder if she reads this journal. |

Another late night, another stupid live journal post.
I was going to post something about how for some reason I'm insanely optimistic about life right now, and all the revelations that follow with that. But one, that's silly because theres no point. Two I might have sunk to the polar oppisote tommorow night.
INSTEAD, im going to rant about Vader Bomb. My band. At this moment it's really nothing. Theres me, there's Josh, and there's Zach. Then there's potentially other people who might play and have expressed some interest in it, but not especially a lot.
BUT, that having been said. We are going to be huge. We don't even have a fully formed song, but we are going to be huge. Why? Because I know of the three people listed above we all have a drive to be in a band. Especially me and Josh.
Obviously 95% of bands that start say this. And prob about 5% of them actually make it. But I promise you, yes you reading this right now, someday you will hear a vader bomb single on the radio, and you'll be all "I KNEW THAT KID" (and perhaps the other two kids as well)
Josh is a ridonk guitarist right off the bat. I... not so much. But I want this more then I want crack, and I certainally am a man who fiends for crack.
Just wait and see. Bitches. |
